What to eat on carnivore at the office

Real meals you can take to work, eat at your desk and reheat in a communal microwave without anyone asking questions.

The short answer

Pack two lunches: a hot container (slow-cooked mince or chicken thighs) and a cold container (biltong, hard-boiled eggs, beef jerky).

Keep a shaker of electrolytes at your desk. Hydration is the most common reason for the mid-afternoon slump.

When colleagues ask, keep it simple: 'I eat meat, drink water, and feel better than I have in years.' Don't evangelise.

The carnivore lunchbox is the unsung hero of workplace consistency.

1. Slow-cooked mince + beef fat

Make a batch on Sunday. Portion into microwave-safe containers. Reheat 2-3 minutes on high.

2. Cold boerewors slices + biltong

Slice leftover boerewors thick. Pack with a small bag of biltong. Zero reheating required.

3. Crispy chicken thigh + salt

Roast on Sunday, portion bones-in. Cold chicken thighs taste better than cold chicken fillets.

4. Bone broth in a thermos

Freeze broth in a 500ml thermos in the morning. By lunch it's liquid and warming.

5. Liver paté (if you're brave)

Pan-fry 200g liver in beef fat with salt, blend with more fat. Spread on... nothing. Carnivore flex.
