Delivery questions
Answered plainly.
Does The Carni deliver in Cape Town?
Yes. The Carni delivers to 54 suburbs across the Cape Town metro and surrounding towns, including Bellville, Blouberg, Blue Downs, Bot River, Brackenfell, CBD and more. Orders are cold-chain delivered by courier.
How much does delivery cost?
Delivery is charged at the courier's rate for the suburb, from R180 to R440 per order. The Carni passes the courier rate straight through and does not add a handling fee. There is no order value at which delivery becomes free.
What days does The Carni deliver?
Metro suburbs are served on a Wednesday and a Saturday run, morning or afternoon. Outlying areas — the winelands, the West Coast and the far peninsula — are served on a single weekly run, with the day confirmed by WhatsApp before dispatch.
How is the meat kept cold in transit?
Frozen orders are packed with dry ice in insulated boxes and are intended to reach the customer at -18 °C. Chilled orders are packed with gel packs and arrive at 0-4 °C for cooking the same day. Each product is packed to its own cold chain, so a single order can contain both.
What happens if a box arrives thawed?
Photograph the box within 30 minutes of delivery and contact The Carni. A thawed box is replaced or refunded in full. This is a cold-chain guarantee, not a goodwill gesture.
